Stopping at Vigur to eat our delicious home-made lunch among the puffins and eider ducks is sure to get you ready for the paddle back to the mainland.

The journey begins ins Ísafjörður, where you meet your guide and gear up. We then drive for around 45 minutes from Ísafjörður to Seyðisfjörður fjord, where we have a short safety briefing and paddle lesson. We begin by paddling to the headland of Folafótur, where there are unusual rock formations caused by erosion and ruins of old settlements where over 100 people once lived. On the way, we keep a lookout for seals and whales that often venture into this fjord.

From Folafótur we make the last leg to the island of Vigur, where we land to take a little break from kayaking and enjoy the slow-paced life on this beautiful island. Thousands of birds call Vigur their home in the summer. There are puffins everywhere on the island as well as Eider Ducks, Guillemots, Razorbills and other marine birds.
The relationship between the farmers on the island and the ducks is very special. The family has collected the down from their nests for hundreds of years, and in exchange they protect the ducks from birds of prey.
After the walk on the island, we get back to our boats and paddle back to the car and drive back to Ísafjörður.

Transportation, kayaking gear, professional guide and a delicious homemade lunch.
